Best Christmas Gifts for Moms and Kids with ADHD!

This post is about the best Christmas gifts for moms and children with adhd, and why they are the best gifts, and why we would love them!

If you’re the person buying these gifts, well that means you probably googled “good gifts for moms or kids with adhd”, which means you probably have a wife or a child with adhd, and that is AWESOME!. Because they are awesome! I’m so glad to have you in my corner of the internet. You’re for a treat if you want your wife with ADHD or your child to not only love the gift you give them, but for the gift to be thoughtful, and helpful all the same time! You know what they say, happy wife, happy life?

If you’re the person with ADHD, you may want to ask Santa for some of these gifts…or all of them! Who am I kidding? 😉 These are things that either I have recently purchased, or things that I would like and love to have myself! And I will explain in great detail why they are a genius gift for an ADHD adult or kid, how we could use them, and how they will help us.

And of course, things that are just fun and pretty are great gifts too! We are not going to be disappointed with anything! So let’s get to the list!

Gifts for Moms with ADHD

Gifts For the Moms!

Get a big keyring that is pretty

1. Key Ring/Keychain

What are ADHD people constantly losing? Yes, you guessed it! Our keys! So it’s only fitting that this would be the FIRST gift one our list. Very practical yes, but no one says they can’t be cute and chic! I received one in a Dirty Santa game last year (also known as white elephant game), and it is adorable! It has a gigantic round ring that you can find and grab with ease in a purse. So instead of looking just for your keys, (why do they always land in the bottom?), you can grab the bracelet/ring, and your keys are attached.

Mine has a cute charm and tassle on it which really ups the girly factor, but if that isn’t your thing, you could just get one more your style. This is similar to the one I have, and it has helped me more times than I can count this year, and has saved me so much time in looking for my keys. This is a game changer for ADHD mama’s!

Get a new clean purse

2. Purses

Since we are on the topic of keyrings, lets talk about what we put our keys in. No matter how scatterbrained we are, we still want pretty things. Pretty clothes, pretty purses, pretty shoes, pretty earrings, you know what I’m saying? It may not seem like we care because we are seen as running around like a chicken with our heads cut off a lot of the time, but we do care! We care that our purses are a hot disorganized mess, and we want a change! We want a new purse that is chic, cute, and not too big because if they are too big, well…. they end up a hot disorganized mess, and we are back to being frustrated.

So insert this beauty! I had been eyeing this purse for most of this year, and I finally bit the bullet and bought one for myself in October because the coating on my old purse was actually peeling. So not cute, and it made me feel frustrated, and not put together every time I took it anywhere. It was so bad that I was hiding it in my van at church instead of taking it in because I was embarrassed about the way it looked.

Well, I don’t have to worry about being embarrassed with this one! It’s a beauty, and you can get it monogrammed or leave it blank. It only has one pocket, but if you feel you need to keep your items more organized and separated, see the next gift idea below. I don’t get a commission from this one, but it’s so pretty, I just have have to share it!

Organize your purse with pouches or organizers

3. Organizers and Pouches

If you think you or the person you are buying more needs more organization within their purse or needs their items more separated, then purchase a purse organizer like this one, or plain or cute pouches! I don’t have the see through pouches, but I like the idea that you can easily see everything that’s in it. I have 3 zippered pouches that I have picked up or been given, and I have oils, lipstick, and chapstick in one, I have my checks and a pen and some random gift cards in one, and some feminine products in another. These see through pouches and purse organizer looks really good!

Get cozy with iced coffee and a book

4. Books

Yes, you can always get them a book they ask for, and I recommend that also! However, you can also get them a book that could help them understand themselves a little better, or just give them practical tips on how to declutter, organize, or minimize your environment. Disclaimer with this one- make sure the person has mentioned wanting or needing improvements or help in these areas BEFORE gifting them a book on these topics. These are my book recommendations!

Declutter Like a Mother- this book is such an invaluable resource for tired, overwhelmed mamas, who are in survival mode! If you are looking for a how to on decluttering, motherhood, and simplifying your home, work and life, this is the book for you! No other decluttering book compares in my humble opinion!

If you like a classic decor, chic fashion, love hosting, and you need inspiration on how to do it gracefully and with ease, look no further than these books! I found Jennifer on youtube, and she is simply inspiring! She wrote a whole series of books for ladies who aspire to be chic in every way, even if you’re just lounging around at home. You will definitely feel inspired with her teaching! Here is her youtube channel, and her website.

When you pay, you get even more massive value!

5. Digital Courses on Decluttering/Organization

Now, like I said above, be careful giving gifts like these! Make sure the person you are gifting it to, has already mentioned to you that they want to declutter, or organize their home, and life. Even though you may think they need it, if they feel offended by a book or a digital course on this topic, they more than likely won’t even use it, or will stay in denial. So, make sure you are being money smart, and don’t waste your money if they haven’t mentioned needing and wanting this already.

With all of that said, I have purchased this course (no commissions earned here for me), and it has changed my freaking life- for the better! I love this gal, and she has other amazing programs and resources too. Follow her on all her socials- you will not be disappointed!

This course looks amazing too, and she has a youtube channel with tons of amazing free content! Check out her website, and start watching her on youtube. You will love her too!

Get more cozy in a clean home

6. A Cleaning Company

Tread carefully with this one. 🙂 Take the advice mentioned above, and make sure this is something that they have mentioned they need, and want. Sometimes these can be pricey, so here are some tips:

  • Go in together as a group, so you’re paying a small amount per person, and
  • Ask some young teens or just other ladies if they will help you and you can surprise the person with cleaning their house free of charge! Bring some yummy treats, food, and drinks, and put some fun music or a Christmas movie on, and make it as enjoyable for the cleaners and the homeowner as possible! Visit and chat afterward, and delight in the beautiful, clean house!

7. Artkive Box

This is the most AMAZING business created, and part of me is so sad that I didn’t come up with this genius idea!

As a mom, we love to keep some pieces of our kids artwork, But oftentimes, we don’t know what to do with them, how to display them properly, how to preserve them so they still look new, and where to store them is always an issue. Or maybe it’s just me- please tell me it isn’t just me?! We want to store them in a way that isn’t an eyesore, and that we can easily get to also. We also end up with so many art pieces that they end up a jumbled disorganized mess, with no end in sight.

Introducing the Artkive box! They send you a box, you put in your child or children’s artwork, they take high quality photographs of every special piece, and put in in a precious memory book for you to flip through any time you wish! You can keep the art pieces, or you can tell the company to toss them, since you will have the keepsake book of art that you will cherish forever! I personally have not had this made yet, but as soon as we move into our new house (just started building), that will be top priority!

If you’re wondering how to gift this, you can give them money or a gift card here to go towards this! I think this is a must have for every mom with ADHD!

More photo books please!

8. Photo Book

Since we are on the topic of kids and memories, let’s also talk about pictures! We love pictures of our kids! But honestly, most of us are horrible at actually getting the pictures printed, and then they sit around waiting on frames, and that reminds us we need new frames because we don’t like our current ones, and that reminds us that we don’t like where they were, but we don’t know where to hang them to look better, so we google or pinterest photo gallery walls…..you get the picture.

If you have access to the person’s photos, then make them a beautiful photo book! Please, this will be wonderful because this will leave all the hard work, and decision making up to somebody else! If you don’t have access to their photos, you can save some of their pictures (make sure they are good!) on facebook to your phone, and make a photo book for them that way. Or give them a gift card or coupon to Shutterfly or a company that does photo books. They will love you forever!

Phone apps that will help you!

9. Phone Apps

Due- for reminders and timers. One time purchase (I think) of $6.99

Evernote- for lists, to do’s, reminders, saving websites and videos. This sounds amazing! And it’s free!

Remember the Milk- this is an app designed to help us get things done, by creating task lists with subtasks. You can assign due dates, and add notes such as passwords, locations, and even addresses that can help you complete the tasks when you’re ready to complete the task. I know I need this in my life!

Workout Apps- Lets face it, most moms, adhd or not, are nonstop running around, and we barely have the time and energy to eat a good meal, let alone cook, clean, homeschool (if you homeschool), take our kids places, make sure they get outside, etc. It’s a lot! So if we have any time to workout, it has to be fast! The 7 Minute Workout app is FREE.99, and it’s only 7 minutes! It has been a while since I’ve done this workout, but I think you do something physical for 30 seconds, and rest for 10 seconds, and then do something else. It is hard at the beginning if you’re out of practice, but it gets easier if you stay consistent.

Another fast and short workout is Onyx, but I do not have personal experience with this one. However I read that the app can use your camera to track your reps and your form. I don’t see a price, so I’m going to say this is free as well.

Do some yoga or pilates

10. Gym Membership or Online Workout Program

This gift would be better for a husband to give, so that he can reap the benefits of the membership too. This would be better received if the person has already mentioned they want to get fit, lose weight, gain more muscle mass, etc. If you’re giving this as a gift, make it a bundle and add in some cute sneakers or a cute workout outfit!

I don’t know what gyms you have in your area, so these are my favorite online home workout programs!

  • Living Fierce Club– This program which I had been a member of before AND I lost weight, has videos of workouts with personal trainers, healthy recipes, monthly challenges with a team (if you check in and do the daily tasks, your team can win), lots of nutrition training, and tons more! Now that I’m typing this, it makes me want to do this again! After Christmas, of course. 😉
  • Get Fit with Rick– I found him on youtube last year, and I fell in love with his walking videos! They are fun, the music is fast paced and cheery, and it doesn’t even feel like a workout!
Get better at your gift!

11. Business or Hobby Related

If the person is an entrepreneur and owns their own business, gift them with something that will help them achieve their goals, or help them in their business in some way. Such as, if they are a youtuber, then gift them with a tripod or a phone microphone, if they don’t already have one. Research any apps that would be helpful for their biz, and give that as a gift.

Cozy Christmas morning

The Best Gifts for Kids with ADHD!

Of course if you were to ask a child with ADHD what they want for Christmas, they would give a very prolific and detailed list of toys and things they want for Christmas. They probably won’t be thinking of things that will actually help them. Oh gosh no! And that is fine, because they are kids.

So that means…if they aren’t going to ask for things (most of the time) that could potentially help them with their memory, or attention span, then it’s up to us adults! But…what else is new, right? 😉

Here are a few gift ideas that not only the kids, but sometimes the whole family can enjoy!

Get more games, and less screens

Memory games

Children and teens with ADHD with struggle with memory. They just do. Ok, if I’m being honest, adults with ADHD also struggle with memory. And new moms with no sleep. And older moms no matter how many kids you have. Ok, so basically if you’re a mom, you are going to struggle with memory, also known as mom brain.

A simple memory game like this one could help strengthen their working memory. To win, they have to remember where the matches are, and it helps with other skills too such as learning same and different, taking turns, and simple game rules.

Board games

Along with memory games, this is another good way to improve working memory. Games such as Guess who, Pictureka, and Sequence are fun, but they also teach strategy, how to play by the rules, how to ask better questions, and they are great quality time spent with family or friends. The links are below!

Invest in your child

Hobbies and Passions

Children and teens may have a talent they are developing, or a passion that they want to explore and learn more about. Allowing a child to develop their gifts, talents, interests and passions will help them gain more confidence in anything they decide to do in the future. Some ideas are:

  • Voice lessons
  • Acting lessons
  • Art lessons
  • Music Lessons
  • Private trainers for a specific sport
Healthy Candy or baked goods

Favorite Special Diet Snacks

Whether they are on a special diet or not, any child would love to see a favorite snack or a special goodie that they don’t eat very often inside their stocking! However, if they are on a special diet, here are some of my favorite brands that are allergy friendly!

Christmas Treats

Ingredients for their Favorite Dessert or Cookies

Give them a box or bag full of the ingredients to make their favorite dessert or cookies! On one condition- you have to make it together, and eat it together at the end. 😉

These are some of my favorite brands just to get you started!

Bobs Red Mill Gluten Free Flour

King Arthur Gluten Free Flour

Almond Flour– This flour is amazing in cookies and pancakes!

Oat Flour– This flour is amazing in baked goods too!

Legit Baking Company– I will get no commissions here, but I still wanted to share this amazing company that specializes in grain free bread mixes, and any kind of baked goods mixes you can think of- brownies, pancakes, cookies, muffins- you name, they’ve got it!

Get comfy with a book!

Books

If they have a favorite book series, or even if they don’t, a new book can be exciting for an avid reader such as myself. Start with what they are interested in, do a little digging for a book about their interests, and voila! They have a new book to try!

If they have dyslexia, reading challenges, or learning differences, audio books are fantastic as well! Don’t discount audio books. For more extra learning and engagement, get the book from the library, and have them listen to the audiobook, and follow along on the page of the book.

This is really great for children and teens with ADHD because they are learning to focus, even if its short periods of time! You can incorporate reading comprehension by asking questions, asking them to retell the story, and setting a timer if focusing on reading for too long is hard for them.

I hope you enjoyed this comprehensive list of the Best Christmas Gifts for Moms and Children with ADHD! Please comment below with any gift ideas that I forgot! I would love to hear from you!

Xoxo, Tara
